Do you sell the boots from this site?
No. This site is the catalogue and the sizing. The buy buttons open the listing for that size at our retail partner, and the sale, the carriage and any return are theirs.
How do your women's sizes run?
On one grid. 37 of our own charts agree on it, size for size, to within 0.3 of an inch. Measure heel to longest toe, standing, and the bench will tell you which size that length fits into.
Why is there no men's grid?
Because our men's boots are not all built on one last. At the same marked size 8 the inside length runs from 9.4 to 11.1 inches depending on the pair, which is wider than the step between sizes. Averaging that would produce a number no boot actually is, so every men's page carries its own chart instead.
Should I size up?
If you fall between two sizes, yes. A pull-on boot has no lacing to take up slack, so a little long can be managed with a thicker sock or an insole, and a little short cannot be managed at all. If a measurement lands squarely on a size, take that size.
What does the inside length in your chart mean?
It is the length of the boot, not the length of the foot that suits it. A foot exactly as long as the figure will touch both ends. That is why the bench shows the room each size leaves rather than announcing a single answer.
Will the shaft close over my calf?
We publish a shaft opening on 191 of our 312 pages. Where a pair carries a full chart the bench reads the opening at your size; where the tag gives one figure it says which size that was taken on. Measure the calf at its widest, sitting, over the sock you will wear.
Why does a page show only one colour?
Because a colourway is what people choose from. Each one gets its own page with its own photograph, and every size we cut in that colour is on it. Other colours of the same shape are linked from the page.
How do your children's sizes read?
The labels change name partway up the run, from toddler to little kid, and the numbers restart when they do. The lengths do not jump at that point. Our 10 children's charts agree with each other exactly, so one grid answers for the whole run.
Do you make wide fittings?
Width is not something we publish a separate fitting for, so we are not going to claim one. What we can point you at is the shafts cut with more room, which is where most of the width complaints actually land.
Are the boots leather?
It varies by pair, and the upper, lining and outsole are listed on every page that we have them for. Suede needs a brush and a dry day; the notes cover what it asks for.
